How to remove someone else’s Apple ID from Apple Store

If you have someone else’s Apple ID signed into the Apple Store on your iPhone, you’ll have to remove it or you may have trouble downloading new apps. This scenario is fairly simple to deal with.

To remove someone else’s Apple ID from the Apple Store, just go to Settings > your Apple ID name > Media & Purchases, then tap Sign Out and tap Sign Out again. The Apple ID will be immediately signed out from the Apple Store. Then tap Media & Purchases and you can follow the pop-up menu to sign in to your own Apple ID.

Remove someone’s Apple ID using their password

If you have someone else’s Apple ID set up the iCloud service on your iPhone, you have to enter a password to remove it. So now the challenge is how to get someone else’s Apple ID password.

If that person is nearby, you can hand them your iPhone and ask them to enter their password to sign out of the Apple ID. Alternatively, you might even ask them to give you their password if they wish. With the password, simply follow the instructions below to remove the Apple ID from your iPhone.

Step 1: Open your iPhone’s Settings and tap the Apple ID name at the top, then tap Sign Out at the bottom.

Step 2: Enter the correct Apple ID password when prompted, and tap Turn Off to turn off Find My iPhone.

Step 3: When asked if you want to keep a copy of the data, make sure that the sliders for all the options are off, as this is data that is synced to someone else’s Apple ID and you don’t need to keep it on your iPhone. After that, tap Sign Out and tap Sign Out again to confirm and the Apple ID will be removed from your iPhone immediately.

Ask someone to remove their Apple ID from your iPhone remotely

If the person is far away and refuses to reveal his password, you can ask him to remotely remove his Apple ID from your iPhone. Here is what the other side needs to do, and all you need to do in the process is make sure your iPhone is turned on and connected to the internet.

Step 1: Sign in to icloud.com with the Apple ID, and once you’re signed in, click on the Find My app on the iCloud homepage.

click the Find My app

Step 2: Select your iPhone from the All Devices menu and click Erase This Device, then follow the onscreen prompts to confirm to proceed. This will remotely erase your iPhone.
