Welcome to the user guide for iSumsoft Corfixer, a powerful software tool for repairing various corrupted files on your computer. Whether you’re dealing with damaged photos, videos, audio files, PDFs, or other files, this software provides a quick and effective way to restore them to their original state.
In this guide, we will walk you through the simple process of repairing your files using the software. Just follow the steps below, and you’ll be able to recover your important files in no time.
Upon launching the software, you’ll see different repair options based on the type of file you want to fix (e.g., Photo Repair, Video Repair, File Repair, or Audio Repair). Select the appropriate option based on the type of file you need to repair. For this guide, we’ll select Photo Repair.
Click on the "Add" button at the bottom of the interface. A file selection dialog will appear where you can browse your computer and select the corrupted file that you want to repair. Once selected, click Open in the lower right corner of the dialog and the file will be added to the software’s workspace.
Click on the "Repair" button. The software will begin analyzing the files and automatically start the repair process.
If it prompts for a successful repair, you'll see a thumbnail of the repaired file in the software. Click OK to confirm.
You can then preview the repaired file in the software by clicking on the eye icon to the right of the thumbnail. This will allow you to verify that the file has been restored to its original state.
If you’re satisfied with the repair, click the "Save" button to save the file to your desired location on your computer.
If you are repairing a corrupted photo or video and the repair fails or you are not satisfied with the result, you can click the Advanced Repair button on the right side of the file. Then add a sample file for advanced repair.
Q: What is a Sample File?
A: A sample file is a healthy, uncorrupted file created by the same device as the corrupted file (e.g., camera, smartphone, or software) and matches the file format of the corrupted file (e.g., both are JPEG, CR2, MP4, etc.). For example, if your corrupted JPEG was taken with a Canon EOS R5, add a healthy JPEG from the same camera.
Q: Why is a Sample File Required?
A: A sample file provides a reference for the software to analyze structural patterns, metadata, and encoding settings unique to the device. This helps the software replicate the exact file structure for recovery. It enables advanced algorithms to rebuild severely damaged files (e.g., corrupted headers or pixel data) with higher accuracy.
With iSumsoft Corfixer, you can repair corrupted files quickly and efficiently, restoring your photos, videos, audio files, and documents without the hassle. The software’s easy-to-use interface makes it accessible to all users, whether you are a casual user or a professional.
